Ohio Professional License Renewal
- Ohio teachers must renew their five-year professional license by completing six semester hours (6 SH) of coursework from an accredited institution.
- Maximize Your Time: Register for two 3-credit Upward courses (totaling 6 SH). You'll also earn Upward Rewards in the process.
- Be sure to approve your Individual Professional Development Plan (IPDP) with your Local Professional Development Committee (LPDC) prior to registration
Ohio Educator Salary Advancement
Most Ohio school districts accept regionally accredited university credit for movement across salary lanes (e.g., MA+15, MA+30), resulting in a permanent base pay increase.

Earning Credit
- Email your completed coursework to support@upwardteachers.com
- Upward evaluates your coursework within one week of your submission, and submits your grade to UMass Global (our accredited university partner)
- UMass Global posts your grade within five business days of receiving Upward's assessment
- You login to your UMass Global account to order your transcripts. Note that the university is an entirely separate organization from Upward, and any questions on your transcript or university account can be emailed to exed@umassglobal.edu
