IN Proficient or Accomplished Practicioner License
The Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) provides a clear lane for renewal using Upward university credits.
- The 6-Hour Requirement: To renew your 5-year Proficient or 10-year Accomplished Practitioner license, Indiana requires 6 semester hours of coursework. By taking two of our 3-credit graduate courses, you satisfy your entire renewal requirement for the cycle.
- No Pre-Approval Needed: Because our courses result in an official transcript from a regionally accredited university (UMass Global), they are automatically accepted by the IDOE for renewal.
- Flexibility (Coursework or PGP): While you can use our credits to satisfy the 6-hour coursework requirement, you can also apply them to a Professional Growth Plan (PGP). In Indiana, 1 semester credit equals 15 PGP points. One 3-credit course gives you 45 points—instantly halfway to your 90-point goal.
- When it’s time to renew via the LVIS (Licensing Verification and Information System) portal, you simply upload your official UMass Global transcript. There is no need for a separate "certificate of completion" from a PD vendor—your university transcript is the only evidence required to prove you have met the state's academic standards.

- Upward evaluates your coursework within one week of your submission, and submits your grade to UMass Global (our accredited university partner)
- UMass Global posts your grade within five business days of receiving Upward's assessment
- You login to your UMass Global account to order your transcripts. Note that the university is an entirely separate organization from Upward, and any questions on your transcript or university account can be emailed to exed@umassglobal.edu
